Report: Central spent $9,815 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Central School District 104 is down 9 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the St. Clair County school district spent $10,792 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,815 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 585 to 628.

Central's spending in 2016-17 was 24 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
