Report: Mascoutah spent $10,010 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Mascoutah Community Unit School District 19 is down 4 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the St. Clair County school district spent $10,393 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,010 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 3699 to 3901.

Mascoutah's spending in 2016-17 was 23 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
