Anderson Hospital issued the following announcement on June 29.
Anderson Medical Group physician, Dr. Anthony Malench, has retired ending a 60+ year run of Malench Family Medicine in the Edwardsville area.
Anthony is one of four Malenchs who practiced family medicine in our community. The Malench practice began back in 1956 when Anthony’s father, Henry, established a medical practice in Edwardsville as a family physician and general surgeon. Henry was later joined by his brother, Robert, and then joined by his sons Peter and Anthony.
Anthony was the last in practice and retired this month, ending a legacy of care from a wonderful family of doctors.
