Of the 57 out-of-school suspensions, 45 were given to boys and 12 were given to girls, including 17 elementary or middle schoolers and 40 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 33 incidents. There were 13 incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For 36 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
