COLLINSVILLE COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 10: Trapp & Fedorchak are CHS Faculty of the Month

Honor roll 01

Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.

Congratulations to Mrs. Kristin Trapp and Ms. Micki Fedorchak – the CHS dynamic duo of social work – for being nominated by their peers at Collinsville High School to be the September 2018 Faculty Members of the Month.

Several faculty members at CHS nominated the pair. Here are some of the reasons they are being honored:

“I would like to nominate both Kristin Trapp and Micki Fedorchak for CHS Faculty Members of the Month. Our social workers demonstrate a definite commitment to the well-being of students, staff, and our school community. They have proactively teamed with organizations such as the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the National Alliance on Mental Illness in order to serve, support and educate CHS students.”

“Their leadership in mental health awareness has been outstanding. For example, they recently coordinated activities for Suicide Prevention Month. Kristin and Micki organized constructive messages and activities the week of September 10th. They spent lunch periods in the cafeteria providing students with information. Our social workers also reached out to parents during CHS Open House, as well as at a Suicide Prevention Parent Meeting.”

“Kristin and Micki have also teamed with health teachers to provide meaningful lessons to classes. I have directly observed their professional and compassionate work with students and families. Moreover, they have been absolutely outstanding during times of crisis. Collinsville High School is fortunate to have such talented, caring social workers!”
