State Senate race: Democrat Belt wins voter tally in Caseyville Township

Christopher Belt led Republican Tanya Hildenbrand in votes cast in Caseyville Township for the District 57 state Senate race, according to the latest vote count.

Belt appeared to outpace Hildenbrand by a margin of 18.6 percent on Tuesday in the township.

In 2014, Republican Ruocco Katherine, ran uncontested, so no comparison data is available.

In comparison, the 2014 winner, Republican Ruocco Katherine, won by a margin of 3.6 percent in that jurisdiction, beating Democrat Clayborne, Jr., II, who received 2,205 votes to Katherine's 2,371.
