McKendree junior water polo star Joseph Mahan has been named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Division-II All-American team.

In voting that was made public on Dec, 14, Mahan became the first Bearcats player in the history of the program to be tabbed for such honors, according to the school's website.

Mahan bagged 76 goals this season, sparking the Bearcats to their first Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) post-season berth and a 15-13 overall finish. He was also named to the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division-II All-Tournament team and the MAWPC West Region All-Conference second team.

As a sophomore, the management major appeared in 27 games, registering a team high 86 goals. He also led the Bearcats in steals (62) and field blocks (8), while adding 23 assists in being named Second Team All-Conference.

Mahan attended John H. Guyer High School in Corinth Texas, where he was first team All-Region as a junior and senior.
