Report: Highland spent $9,301 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Highland Community Unit School District 5 is down 0.2 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $9,321 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,301 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3047 to 2868.

Highland's spending in 2017-18 was 30.3 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
