Report: Belleville spent $11,347 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Belleville School District 118 is up 7.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $10,524 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $11,347 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 3901 to 3838.

Belleville's spending in 2017-18 was 14.9 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
