East Alton home prices fall in the third quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the third quarter of 2018 in East Alton fell by $20,200 while total sales increased by 38.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through September of 2018, there were 29 homes sold, with a median sale price of $55,000 - a 26.9% decrease over the $75,200 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 21 homes sold in East Alton in the third quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in East Alton for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $1,616, approximately 2.9% of the median home sale price for the third quarter of 2018.
