ST. ELIZABETH'S HOSPITAL: HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital Opens New Therapy location in partnership with McKendree Metro Rec Plex

St. Elizabeth's Hospital issued the following announcement on June 4.

HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, in partnership with McKendree Metro Rec Plex, opened a new and expanded therapy facility this week, located on the first floor at 209 Rec Plex Drive, O’Fallon.

St. Elizabeth’s relocated the outpatient therapy services located at 1512 N. Green Mount Road into the 5,500 square-foot addition.

“The outpatient therapy care that will take place in this new, spacious facility will allow our physical and occupational therapy services room to expand and provide new therapy services for patients. The primary focus at this location will be athletic injuries and orthopedic care,” said Tom Dibadj, PT, DPT, director of therapy services at St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

The new space features:

four private physical therapy treatment rooms
an occupational therapy room to assist with activities of daily living
expanded gym space

“Additionally at this facility, patients will have access to aquatic therapy and advanced technology including our AlterG® Anti-Gravity Treadmill, which uses NASA differential air pressure technology to allow rehabilitation and sports training with up to an 80 percent reduction in body weight, while running or walking for safe rehabilitation,” notes Dibadj.

A public Open House is planned for Thursday, June 27 from 5-7p.m. At the Open House, guests will meet the staff, tour the entire McKendree Metro Rec Plex facility and enter to win door prizes, including a six-month membership or personal training package (three, one-hour sessions) to the McKendree Metro Rec Plex.

The McKendree Metro Rec Plex is a full-service, family friendly, state-of-the-art sports complex that offers two NHL-sized ice rinks, an aquatic center fit with a 10-lane championship swimming pool and recreational pool, and a fitness center that includes the Cardio Center (sponsored by St. Elizabeth’s), weight room, group fitness classes, child care and more.

The second floor of the new two-story addition will be used by the Metro Rec Plex to accommodate additional group fitness programs.
