Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Madison County?

There were 70 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Madison County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 61 men and nine women were released in Madison County. Of the parolees, three were veterans, and the median age was 38. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Michelle Phillips. She was convicted of homicide in 2011 when she was 32 years old. She is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Madison County municipality.
