HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital issued the following announcement on June 18.
HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland invites community members to join them for a Butterfly Release on Thursday, June 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the hospital Healing Garden. Butterflies will be released in honor or in memory of loved ones. A short reception will follow.
“The butterfly represents the transformation of the spirit as our loved ones transition from this life,” Valerie Engelbart, Outreach Representative for HSHS Hospice Southern Illinois. “We look forward to sharing in this special time with the community.”
