CITY OF O'FALLON: Construction on Simmons Road

City of O'Fallon issued the following announcement on June 19.

Construction on Simmons Road, between Porter Road and Milburn School Road, will begin on Monday, June 24th,2019. During Construction, Simmons will be closed to through traffic. It is anticipated that work will be completed no later than November 1st, 2019, weather permitting.

“We kindly ask our residents to be patient and considerate during this improvement project,” said Mayor Herb Roach.

The project will be completed in two stages. The first stage will be from Arbor Green Trail north to the roundabout at Milburn School Road and Fairwood Hills Drive. All local traffic will access the area from the south from Porter Road. Access to all properties will be maintained during construction.

The second stage will be from Arbor Green Trail south to Porter Road. This work segment will begin once the first stage is complete and open to traffic. All local traffic will access the area from the north from Milburn School Road and Fairwood Hills Drive via Lincoln Avenue or Old Collinsville Road. The south segment will be closed to all traffic during the second stage.

The work will consist of storm sewer, curb and gutter installation, sidewalk installation and pavement reconstruction and will be completed by Kamadulski Excavating of Granite City, IL.
