2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 62232?

There were 15 offenders released on parole during 2018 that live near Illinois zip code 62232, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 13 men and two women were released in the Caseyville zip code. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age was 34. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man convicted of a crime against a person in 2017, and the oldest was a 45-year-old woman convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Mitchell Schaffer. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2014, when he was 29 years old. He is now 33.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
