Granite City home prices fall in the first half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2019 in Granite City fell by $43,150 while total sales decreased by 98.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2019, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $14,750 - a 74.5% decrease over the $57,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 301 homes sold in Granite City in the first half of 2018.

The median sales tax in Granite City for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $1,487, approximately 10.1% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2019.
