Analysis: East Alton pays $2.71 for every $1 pensioners contribute to East Alton Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 73.1 percent of the $249,064 the East Alton Police Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $2.71 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, East Alton contributed $182,063 to the fund, which saw a $6,353 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $67,000, or 26.9 percent, in 2018. Another $1 came from other unspecified sources.
