Alton School District plans series of facility improvements for the fall

Alton School District is making a number of facility upgrades.

According to the Alton Daily News, upgrades will include renovations at Alton Middle School, an abatement on the first floor in the main building, and additional work on the first floor. 

A number of other improvements are being carried out throughout the district which include upgrading the security systems, improving elevators in some of the schools, an addition of auxiliary gyms at the middle school and Alton High School, improving the athletic field lighting and scoreboards, and replacing the school marquees. The Public School Stadium, located on State Street in Alton, is having lighting upgrades as well as resurfacing the track, having new scoreboards put into place, updates to the ticketing and concession space, and the addition of locker rooms on the property. 

Superintendent Mark Cappel told Alton Daily News that the work is taking place in all three of the main buildings at Alton Middle School.
