Cost of college went up for all students at Principia College

Tuition and fees rose 1.9 percent for 2018-19 at Principia College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois students paid $29,470 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $550 more than the $28,920 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 83 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2.4 million and 42 students took out student loans totaling more than $238,000.

Including all undergraduates (447), 446 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.2 million.
