Report: Cahokia School District spent $16,322 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Cahokia Community Unit School District 187 was up 9.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $14,959 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,322 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 3,490 to 3,261 students over the same period.

Cahokia's spending in 2019-20 was 12.6 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
