Sen. Steve McClure shared the results of his Valentine's Card Drive in a Feb. 14 Facebook post.

"Thanks to everyone who participated in our drive, we were able to deliver a massive amount of cards to seniors across the district," McClure said. "Happy Valentine’s Day!"

In appreciation of McClure's efforts, Heritage Health in Litchfield made a post in his recognition.

"Special thank you to State Senator Steve McClure for hosting a Valentine's for Seniors Card Drive," Heritage Health wrote. "He realizes how long-term care facilities have been affected by this pandemic, so he wanted to let the seniors know they are cared for on this holiday and many people in the region are thinking of them."

McClure announced the Valentine's Day Card Drive on Jan. 23.

“Living in a nursing home or assisted-living facility can be a lonely experience,” McClure said. “We want to make sure that those seniors know that they are an important part of the community and are loved.”

McClure represents the 54th Senate District and is a longtime Springfield resident. He joined the Illinois General Assembly in January 2019.

According to his webpage biography, he has worked as an assistant state’s attorney in the Sangamon County Juvenile Division, and as a felony attorney, also in Sangamon County. In that role, he prosecuted criminals. Steve also focused on cases involving those attempting to take financial advantage of senior citizens.
