Superintendent Dr. Brad Skertich of Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 announced on March 13 several upcoming events and updates on ongoing construction projects within the district.

The announcement is significant for families and students as it outlines key dates for school performances, graduation ceremonies, and infrastructure improvements that will impact the community in the coming years.

Dr. Skertich said spring weather has arrived, bringing a positive atmosphere to the district. He encouraged families to attend the Collinsville High School Drama Club’s spring musical, “Between the Lines,” scheduled for April 9-12 at the high school auditorium. He also reminded families about important end-of-year milestones: “Please mark your calendars for CHS Graduation on May 17th at 10:00 a.m. and CMS Promotion Ceremony on May 18th at 1:00 p.m. It is an exciting time to watch our graduates begin the next chapter in their lives and to see our 8th graders begin their journey at Collinsville High School.”

Dr. Skertich provided updates on two major projects at Collinsville High School (CHS). The expansion of the Collinsville Area Vocational Center remains on schedule to open in August for the start of the 2026-27 school year. Additionally, phase one construction of a new baseball field behind CHS will begin in late April or early May, with completion expected by spring of 2027. “Both the CAVC expansion and baseball field projects will positively impact students for years to come, and we look forward to their completion,” he said.
