The Buildings and Facilities Management Committee for Madison County, Illinois, met recently to discuss current projects and take requests for the use of county property.

On the project status front, the committee talked about the administration building, where a punch list for cleaning and resealing that was being finished, and the courthouse, where the punch list for tuck pointing and resealing was being finished. In Wood River, the health department had purchased another water fountain. The criminal justice center received wire replacement.

The committee then took requests for county property usage. Planning and Development requested multiple properties on multiple dates. The Edwardsville High School Band wanted to put signs up in various county locations. The Sons of the American Revolution requested to use the courthouse lobby.

Also of note at the meeting was the public comment portion, during which Shirley Kleeman, a representative from the committee’s current cleaning company, C.R. Systems, mentioned the recent bidding of the janitorial services contract.
