Alton City Council to hear from standing and special committees at upcoming meeting

Meetings

The City Council of Alton, Ill., will meet on Wednesday to discuss reports from both its standing and special committees.

During the reports from standing committees, the council will discuss a resolution for amending the city’s animal control ordinance so that community cats can be sterilized, vaccinated and returned.

It will also examine a resolution that would have the city accept the terms of the offer from Pride Inc. to install new landscaping at State House Square.

The Parks and Recreation Commission will give a report during the session for special committees followed by the Simpson Memorial Tennis Fund Committee.

Before adjourning, the council will also announce appointments: Gary Doerr will be reappointed to the Plan Commission along with James Rogalsky, Eve Perkins and Wade Gibson.
