The City of Alton recently held a Committee of the Whole meeting in the City Council Chambers to examine a host of pressing resolutions.

Chairman Charles Brake presented a resolution that would approve the payment of all everyday expenses of the city including payroll until the creation of a new budget. The committee approved the resolution unanimously.

He also brought forth a resolution for an ordinance that would establish a no-parking zone on parts of Hayden Street and a resolution for the public works, police and fire departments to conduct a temporary closure of Fourth Street for the Marquette Catholic High School Fun Run & Walk on May 7.
