Mayor Larry Gulledge called to order the Village of Maryville’s caucus meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.

The trustees who attended the meeting include Rod Schmidt, Mike Vallino, Linda Garcia, Todd Bell, Craig Short and Ed Kostyshock. Other attendees include Deputy Clerk Christy Lucas, Public Works Director Patrick Presson, attorney Ronald Motil and just one reporter.

Among the issues resolved were the valve repairs needed at the Anthony Lift Station. Presson, who is the director of Public Works, said that the vault, valves, control panel and piping located at Anthony Lift Station need repaired. If there is an emergency, these elements are an important part of bypassing the station.

Presson stated that it is impossible to bypass the lift station if there are valves that need to be repaired or replaced. When asked if the local Village of Maryville would do any repair work on the lift station, Presson replied that the concrete would be the village's responsibility; the community has gained two repair bids already.

Presson’s recommendation is to hire Vandevanter Engineering for the repairs. All of the repairs would cost a total of $14,646.000.

Gulledge verified that the parts have already been ordered, as these repairs must be finished as soon as possible. He led a discussion about the labor and materials in the bid from Vandervanter Engineering.

This issue, among others that were brought up by Presson -- as well as Presson’s recommendations -- was scheduled for the next board meeting agenda. The board intends to determine its approval at that time.
