The City of Alton Committee of the Whole met April 11 to vote for a resolution regarding The Lewis & Clark Community College Youth Build Program negotiation with the director of Development and Housing to make improvements to real property owned by the City of Alton.

The property consists of two single-family residences located at 3230 and 3253 Hawthorne Blvd. The director of Development and Housing, in consultation with the legal department of the City of Alton, is hereby authorized and directed to pursue the completion of the improvements to the aforesaid properties and to enter into any and all agreements or other documentation, as deemed necessary and appropriate for the completion of said improvements.

Voting for the resolution to make improvements to the real property was authorized and directed to pursue.

The committee also voted that a resolution relating to a grant program sought by the Salvation Army of Alton be considered and that the mayor be authorized to sign said documents on behalf of the city.

The Committee of the Whole audits all bills, reviews all bids, considers property tax abatement for industrial firms and manages the Municipal Band.
