Starting with a BBQ event yesterday and continuing through the end of the month, Maryville’s Parks & Rec committee is presenting a trio of events for all residents and visitors via the village’s 10th annual Maryville Discovery Sundays Series.
At yesterday's event, Code 3 Spices of Collinsville connoisseurs Chris Bohnemeier and Mike Radosevich presented “The Art of the Bar-Be-Que” with tasting samples.

For every bottle sold by Code 3 Spices, 50 cents is donated to first responder and military organizations, according to the company. Code 3 Spices’ website also notes that all its specialty blends are MSG and gluten-free.
Constituents can gather at the Maryville Community Center at 500 E. Division St. from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 19 to learn about “Social Media and other Great Apps” with Dani Langhauser, engineer and web developer at TechKnowSolutions in Breese. Langhauser will share her expertise in web design, social media and mobile app development.
Finally, Discovery Sundays’ third offering, 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 26 — also at the Community Center — will focus on landscape design. Nancee Kruescheck of Naturescapes Nursery will be on hand to present landscape and planting ideas for yards. The business located in Collinsville has provided garden supplies and services to the area for 29 years.
All sessions are free of charge. Registration, while not mandatory, is encouraged by calling 618-772-8555.
Maryville’s Parks & Rec committee is a separate entity from the village’s Parks and Recreation Department.
