The city of Collinsville Historic Preservation Commission met Feb. 9 to provide furnishing updates.
Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the commission:
"The Historic Preservation Commission was established in 1998 to promote the protection and enhancement of places of special character or historical interest or value in the City. The City's Historic Preservation ordinance provides a mechanism to identify and preserve the distinctive and architectural characteristics of the City that represent the City's cultural, social, economic, political and architectural history. The Commission identifies individual properties as Historic Landmarks and larger areas as Historic Districts, both of which are presented to the City Council for approval. As of the beginning of 2009, there have been 30 Landmarks and 1 District approved by the City Council."
