Granite City Finance Committee imposes hotel tax

The Granite City Finance Committee met Feb. 21 to impose a hotel tax.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the committee:

"The members of each committee are designated by the City Council at large, and the Chairman for each committee is selected by the Mayor from the five members which are designated for each respective committee"

Alderman Simpson called the Finance Committee Meeting to order.

Discussion by Mayor, Attorney Cook, Council and Treasurer Valle on improving the wording and fees that can be collected in the Hotel and Motel Tax.

Simpson stated that tonight we have an Ordinance to Amend Ordinance 8032, imposing a Hotel and Motel Privilege Tax within the City of Granite City, Illinois and we are asking that this be put on hold for further discussion.

Motion by Simpson, second by Davis to Adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting. All Voted

Yes. Motion Carried.

Meeting Adjourned.
