Belleville Public Library Board of Trustees discusses fundraising

The Belleville Public Library Board of Trustees met Feb. 9 to discuss fundraising.

February 9 2017 6:30 PM

I. CALL TO ORDER AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: Board President Carol Keeley called the

meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. and reviewed directions for evacuation and/or safety concerns with

all present.

II. PUBLIC COMMENTS: None

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Rhonda Ross moved to accept minutes of the January 12, 2017

Board meeting. Motion was seconded by Helen Thompson. Minutes were approved.

IV. PERSONNEL/LEGAL: Nothing

V. POLICY: None reviewed.

VI. PROPERTY, EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES

1. Rhonda Ross reports that Lee has contacted her schools IT person to provide them with

information on setting up a hotspot program for their students.

2. Director Spearman submitted a written report in his absence.

3. There was a brief discussion about the West Branch

VII. FINANCE: Mary Stiehl read the January Claims to the group and Rhonda made a motion to pay

the claims. Mary Smith seconded the motion. Regular claims were cited in the amount of

$15,077.38, prepaid claims $17,851.12 and Petty Cash of $251.73. Members were polled.

Motion carried.

VIII. FUNDRAISING/PROMOTION/MARKETING:

IX. LIBRARY REPORTS: Enclosed with information packets.

X. OLD BUSINESS:

XI. CLOSED SESSION: None

XII. NEW BUSINESS: There were favorable comments regarding the SIUE program

XIII. ADJOURN: Motion was made by Helen Thompson and seconded by Mary to adjourn. Motion

carried.

XIV. The February meeting of the Library Board of Directors adjourned at 6:45 p.m. The next meeting

of the Library Board of Directors will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 6:30p.m. at the Main

library.
