The price of local government: Village of Dupo

The village of Dupo budget was $4.21 million for its 2015 fiscal year, or $2,820.95 per household.

That's a decrease of 2.4 percent from 2014, when the village spent $4.31 million, or $2,890.79 per household.

Dupo has 1,491 households and a population of 4,138.

Since 2001, the village of Dupo budget has grown by 12.9 percent, from $3.73 million. The village population has grown 10.9 percent over the same period, from 3,731.

Salaries accounted for 32.1 percent of village spending in 2015. Dupo property taxpayers paid $1.35 million for 22 full-time employees and 10 part-time employees.
