Salaries076

A recent report indicates that 63,000 public servants across Illinois receive at least $100,000 each year as part of their taxpayer-supplied salaries.

In the Metro East area alone, the top earners make $465,421. The statewide cost shouldered by taxpayers amounts to $10 billion.

"Illinois is broke and continues to flirt with junk bond status,” OpenTheBook.com's founder and CEO Adam Andrzejewski said. "But the state's financial woes aren't stopping 63,000 government employees from bringing home six-figure salaries and higher."
