As election season gets going and candidate filing for the March primary winds down, Don Moore said he wants to give voters a choice and is excited to be running for the 108th House District seat.
Moore, a Republican from Troy who serves on the Madison County Board, was among the prospective candidates who filed petitions with the Illinois State Board of Elections on the first day of filing.
Moore, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, is running for seat held by Rep. Charles Meier (R-Okawville).

Moore said his experience in the military as well as his expertise as a logistician and budget expert has given him a zeal for balancing Illinois' budget and fighting against the 32 percdent income tax hike which was recently passed.
Additionally, Moore is a strong believer in small government, a stark contrast to the current political scene in Illinois, but is confident of his abilities to fight the ever-growing big government.
"I am eager to serve the taxpayers of the 108th District and be a vote against (House Speaker) Mike Madigan’s tax and spend policies that have left us with no reforms and a 32 percent income tax hike,” Moore said.
