City of Edwardsville City Council met January 25.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

A special meeting of the Edwardsville City Council was held at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers with Mayor Patton presiding. Alderman Stack, Burns, Risavy, Morrison, Krause, Farrar and Louer answered present on roll call.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all present.

Mayor Patton welcomed everyone to the meeting and Mayor Patton commented upon the 2017 activity and permit activity for the City Edwardsville.

Michael Blue, FAICP- Principal, Teska Associates discussed the Policy of Review and Assessment of Development Related Ordinances as follows:

1) 1-55 Corridor District

2) Downtown

3) Design Quality / Design Review

4) Development Process

5) Need for an R-3 District

6) Transitional District B-3

Mayor Patton asked the Council if any citizen wished to address the Council and the asked if any citizen wished to address the Council.

Ron Deedrick, Illinois Realtors Association spoke about the cycle time reduction and opening the conversation for discussion.

Jim Mundy, Contrega Construction mentioned the preferred design review process.

Janet Stack, Alderman Ward 3 commented ipon the favorable working relationships with developers.

Karen Zimmerman commented lupon the Historic Preservation structure and the impact on N. Main Street. Karen would like to see more prescriptive usage.

Cathy Hamilton, Barber Murphy Group commented on development above market standards.

Mayor Patton asked for a moment of silence for Robert Stuart who was a member pf the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the City of Edwardsville.

Council adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
