A recent campaign ad for Don Moore, a Troy Republican running in the GOP primary in the 108th House District against Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Okawville), features various individuals commenting on Moore's virtues, which he credits the Marine Corps for instilling in him.

One speaker mentions Moore's 20-year career in the Marine Corps and the dedication it required of him.

The ad on YouTube, paid for Liberty Principles PAC, says Moore has plenty of courage and character that many other candidates, specifically Meier, lacks.

"Charlie Meier is part of the problem in Springfield, because he won't stand up to the Chicago Democrats," Don Weber, a former Illinois judge and prosecutor, says in the ad. "Don Moore would never have voted for the state income tax."

The video ends with state Sen. Kyle McCarter (R-Lebanon), speaking in favor of Moore.

"Don brings with him the ethics and the morals and that centered purpose that he learned from the Marine Corps," McCarter says.
