A video from Right for Cahokia posted to YouTube blasts East St. Louis political leaders as “pathetic” and their system of governance as “plantation.”
“These politicians in East St. Louis today ... East St. Louis looks like a hellhole" a voice says in the video. “But yet they dumping this money into the airport that nobody’s riding the plane, nobody’s doing anything. But these stupid politicians that we got in East St. Louis, instead of them dumping $2 to $3 million in East St. Louis … the politicians agree for the little crumbs that they give them down here. It’s pathetic and getting worse. These people don’t like the truth.”
The video directly targets Cahokia Mayor Curtis McCall and elected East St. Louis supervisor Alvin Parks for scorn.

“They are being misled by the Alvin Parks and the rest of them clowns down there and the Curtis McCalls," the voice in the video says. "Curtis McCall has destroyed Cahokia. ... He don’t care; he wants a vote. He doesn't care what's going on down there. Look at the crime that has risen in Cahokia in the last six months under the Curtis McCall leadership.”
Meanwhile, Fox News has reported East St. Louis township officials recently stripped Parks of his ability to make unilateral spending decisions. In all such matters, Parks, who earns $60,000 a year, must now run his ideas past the trustee board.
“This is as plantation as it gets,” the video adds. “Nowhere in America is it worse as East St. Louis.”
