Analysis: Bethalto pays $4.08 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bethalto Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.3 percent of the $457,825 the Bethalto Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.08 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Bethalto contributed $367,739 to the fund, which saw a $7,164 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $90,086, or 19.7 percent, in 2016.
