Analysis: Fairview Heights pays $3.43 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Fairview Heights Police Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.8 percent of the $1,692,937 the Fairview Heights Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.43 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Fairview Heights contributed $1,300,000 to the fund, which saw a $167,072 decrease in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $378,569, or 22.4 percent, in 2016. Another $14,368 came from other unspecified sources.
