New Business:
Joe Thomas with The Gift Box presented the sign application for 300 E. Broadway. He is proposing a two-sided, 3-D sign reading “The Gift Box, Est. 2011”. It is blue with red, white and black lettering and trim. It will hang at a right angle from the building in the same spot as the current sign. Guide wires will be used to stabilize the sign. The sign will hang from a white post with chains. If it is discovered that once the existing sign is removed, the paint on the railing is discolored, then the new sign will hang in its current location.
Barb Gearing made a motion to accept the sign application at each possible location. Margaret Hopkins seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Cody Wagner presented the sign application for The Cave at 1104 E. Broadway. He is proposing a backlit box sign centered to the building, between the first and second floor windows, mounted on the brick. It will be black with green, yellow and red lettering, reading
“The Cave Smoke Shop, CBD + e-juice superstore”.
Kim Lane made a motion to accept the sign application as presented. Nick Moehn seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
Other Business:
The safety of the sign at Zac’s Hookah Lounge was discussed. It was decided that Sam Shaw would inspect the wiring. Also, there is a sign on the awning that advertises the former business.
A letter will be mailed regarding the removal of the old sign.
