Glen Carbon Fire Protection District responded to 79 calls in 2017 - 14.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Glen Carbon included 25 fires - 13 structure fires, four vehicle fires and eight other fires.

In all, the department saw $392,750 in fire loss - or about $15,710 per fire.

The department also received 54 false calls.

The calls resulted in three civilian fire-related injuries and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Glen Carbon Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $2,085,497 in 2017.
