O'Fallon FD responds to 42 fires in 2017

O'Fallon Fire Department responded to 353 calls in 2017 - 10.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in O'Fallon included 42 fires - nine structure fires, 11 vehicle fires and 22 other fires.

In all, the department saw $811,000 in fire loss - or about $19,310 per fire.

The department also received 311 false calls, including seven malicious calls and 304 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.

The O'Fallon Fire Department had an annual budget of $1,064,544 in 2017.

The O'Fallon Fire Fighter's Pension Fund, which has one active employee and retired or inactive employee, was $3,324 positive as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $81 for every fire in 2016.
