ANDERSON HOSPITAL: Dedication Honors A Founding Board Member

Healthevent

Anderson Hospital issued the following announcement on July 19.

Anderson Hospital is blessed with so many people who have given and continue to give their time and talents to make it a special place that the residents of our area rely on for their healthcare.

One such person who exemplifies this is Millie Belobraydic. Millie has been with our hospital since the beginning and has had an impact on so many of us.

Millie’s involvement with Anderson Hospital began in 1967, a decade before the hospital opened. She was part of the visionary group dedicated to building a hospital to serve Maryville, Troy, Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Collinsville and surrounding communities.

The group played an essential role in the establishment of Anderson Hospital.

Millie was there when they broke ground in 1974 and was the volunteer who wheeled in the very first patient on opening day, January 5, 1977.

Since then, Millie has been a constant presence at Anderson Hospital, serving on the Board of Trustees and the Auxiliary in which she served as President for two terms.

In 2000, she was awarded the coveted Founders Award which recognized her as an instrumental figure in the development and ongoing success of Anderson Hospital. For years, she volunteered alongside the Materials Management staff and most recently volunteered at the Information Desks of the Hospital and Cancer Center.

To honor Millie’s many contributions to Anderson Hospital, a generous donor and matching gift donations were made to the Anderson Hospital Foundation.

The donations not only honor Millie but also help the Foundation continue its mission: to support and promote Anderson Hospital as it provides exceptional healthcare services for the communities it serves.

Because of the generous nature of the monetary gift, the Administrative Board Room was dedicated in Millie’s honor on July 17, 2018 at 3:00 P.M.
