91 percent of applicants to Principia College were admitted for fall 2017

At Principia College, 94 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Elsah enrolled 455 students in fall 2017, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 2.4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

12 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 77 percent are residents of other states. 12 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Asian (2 percent).

The school admitted 91 percent of the 134 students who applied for fall 2017. Of those who were admitted, 70 percent enrolled.
