Republican challenger Mike Babcock: 'I have the experience of having owned a business.'
Mike Babcock is keeping his closing message to voters of the 111th District as simple and straight to the point as he can.
“I work for the people of the district and my opponent works for Mike Madigan,” Babcock told Metro East Sun of Rep. Monica Bristow (D-Godfrey). “Madigan has been in control of this state way too long. He uses his state rep allies to get out a message that affects people of the state in all kinds of adverse ways. We’re going to reverse the trend because the trend is not our friend.”
Babcock said the prospect of a Madigan/J.B. Pritzker state leadership team should have voters shaking in their boots.
Rep. Monica Bristow
”People are absolutely fed up with Madigan and his likability down here in southern Illinois is less than 18 percent,” he said. “If he and Pritzker are in control, the people of Illinois will be in great peril when it comes to job opportunities and higher taxes. We need to vote against both of them by voting for Mike Babcock.”
A Wood River Township supervisor, Babcock said he and Bristow’s philosophies and experiences couldn’t be more different.
“I have the experience of having owned a business that allows me to understand things like regulations, fees, cost of workman's compensation and how to make a profit,” he said. “My opponent has no experience when it comes to running a business.”
Babcock said he is convinced voters are ready to turn out in large numbers to bring out about the kind of change many are desperate to see happen.
“I have a very good feeling,” he said. “It’s important for those still sitting on the sideline to get out and vote, realizing that this is one of the most important elections of our time. A lot is at stake time and it’s time for honest people to stand up to Madigan and his Chicago machine.”
The 111th District includes Madison and Jersey counties.
