Republican John Shimkus has been declared the winner in the 15th Congressional District against Democrat Kevin Gaither.
With 99 percent of the precincts reporting, Shimukus, the incumbent, had 72 percent of the vote with a total of 174,271 votes.
Gaither received 28 percent of the vote with a total of 67,377 votes.
