The McKendree women’s wrestling team ended 2018 ranked No. 1 in the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) Top 25 final poll.
When the rankings where released on Dec. 28, the Lady Bearcats stood atop the field on the strength of freshmen Felicity Taylor (116 pounds), senior Alexis Porter (143) and junior Alexandria Glaude (155) all ranked No. 1 in their weight classes, according to the school's website.
Fellow Bearcats Natalie Reyna, Vanessa Ramirez, Alissa Maldonado, Theresa Rankin, Alexia Ward, Brenda Reyna, Michelle West, Sydnee Kimber, Kori Bullock, Brandy Lowe and Destane Garrick all ranked among the Top 10 in their weight classes.
The Lady Bearcats return to action Jan. 4 at the National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals in Louisville. McKendree is back in action in the Illinois area on Jan. 26, competing in the National Wrestling Coaches Association meet in Lebanon at the Melvin Price Convocation Center.
