Report: Madison spent $14,017 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Madison Community Unit School District 12 is down 0.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Madison County school district spent $14,075 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $14,017 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 781 to 700.

Madison's spending in 2017-18 was 5.1 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
