Report: Marissa spent $10,855 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Marissa Community Unit School District 40 is up 6.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Saint Clair County school district spent $10,175 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,855 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 626 to 583.

Marissa's spending in 2017-18 was 18.6 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
