East St. Louis home prices fall in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in East St. Louis fell by $12,500 while total sales decreased by 21.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 15 homes sold, with a median sale price of $12,000 - a 51% decrease over the $24,500 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 19 homes sold in East St. Louis in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in East St. Louis for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $543.10, approximately 4.5% of the median home sale price for the first quarter of 2017.
